Since I made meditation a daily part of my life, things just seem to go better for me. My life is more balanced and rewarding. Meditation helps me clear my mind and feel more connected, more in control of my life, and it is wonderfully energizing.
Here’s one very simple meditation I sometimes use to de-stress and revitalize myself. It only takes a few minutes.
Sit down in a quiet place where you won’t be interrupted. Breathe comfortably, slowing down your in- and out-breaths a little each time until you achieve a regular, slow pattern of breathing.
As you continue breathing this way, think of a place where you feel peaceful and happy. Imagine yourself in this place. Relax your body, your face and shoulders. Relax your mouth into a little smile.
With each in breath, imagine you are breathing in peace, and vitality. With each out breath, imagine you are breathing out all stress, all tension. Keep doing this for a while until you feel totally relaxed and peaceful.
